Jimmy Tooley
James grew up in Tucson, Arizona, and graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a degree in Biophysics. He went on to attend Yale School of Medicine, where he graduated cum laude. Initially planning a career in transplant surgery, he completed a surgical internship at Stanford University before discovering his passion for cardiology and transitioning to internal medicine.
He completed both his internal medicine residency and general cardiology fellowship at Stanford, followed by advanced training in cardiac electrophysiology at UCSF. During his training, he received numerous awards recognizing his research accomplishments, clinical excellence, and dedication to compassionate patient care.
Dr. Tooley joined Silicon Valley Cardiology in 2025. He practices all aspects of cardiovascular medicine with a special focus on cardiac electrophysiology. His expertise includes the diagnosis treatment of atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, premature ventricular contractions (PVCs), and the implantation and extraction of pacemakers and defibrillators.
He lives in San Mateo with his wife and two children.
